My Everest is: Literacy In Developing Countries
Gerri
My first Everest mission is to improve the education in the Chyangba Village of Nepal. The literacy project was started in May 2008 and will be completed when the large classroom building of the school is rebuilt. It is unsafe for the children to use and now the classrooms are over crowded. I have committed to continue supplying uniforms to all students who need them and to pay the wage of one English teacher. The library building and reading room is completed and books are on the shelves. There is a lot of space for more books so we will be sending books in as individuals travel to the Village.

where am i?

I am astonished at the difference ones efforts can make in the life of others half way around the world. The children of Chyangba Village in Nepal have changed my life.

how am i stuck?

My challenge is getting the word out about Education Elevated, the mission we have to improve education in developing countries and raising funds for literacy projects in designated areas.

By 'improving education one vertical foot at a time' your dream of bringing literacy to children of Nepal is coming true. Nice going Gerri - keep climbing!

This is a very far-reaching goal with life changing results for many people.
