My Everest is: Weight-loss & Reconstructi ve Surgery
Rafael
Striving toward weight-loss, reconstructive surgery and a new life... Hi, my name is Rafael and I began climbing my personal Everest almost ten years ago. For the majority of my life I've struggled with obesity, depression and anxiety. At my heaviest I weighed a whopping 300lbs. Within the first 2 years of deciding to lose weight & get my life together, I had lost 140lbs. I've kept it off for 8yrs! Statistically this means I'll NEVER gain it back (95% of weight-loss patients regain it plus more within the first 5yrs). However, there's one final step that needs to be done in order for my weight-loss to be complete. That is, the reconstructive surgery meant to remove excess skin left behind by the process. When someone loses an extreme amount of weight, the skin is left sagging and unable to regain it's normal shape. This makes life difficult & leaves the weigh-loss feeling incomplete. Luckily I've discovered a solution! *If curious about my procedure, please google the total body lift

want to help this person with their everest?
where am i?

The road has been tough and I've learned much along the way. But I'm now ready to move into the final stage of this journey. That is, the reconstructive plastic surgery to regain my normal body shape.

how am i stuck?

My health insurance wont help pay, so it's all out of pocket. I can only do so much, I'm feeling overwhelmed financially, but not discouraged. I know I can get there... one step, one dollar at a time.
