I have been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis since October of '99. I successfully completed the inaugural ChallengeWalkMS'08 in WI & was the 1st to register. Participating in this 1st Walk & being the #1 person to register was a dream come true! Since that walk, I became consumed by the passion of promoting this walk and "Challenge Woman" was born (see photo) My legs aren't affected by my MS, so I have sworn to continue walking for those who no longer can. In Sept. of this year, I registered as a member of the "Super Crew" & volunteered to host a rest stop during the event. I still mamaged to walk 25+ miles of the walk after the volunteer duties were completed for the day. I, along with my friends Sally & Cindy, won 2nd place in the Best Rest Stop Contest we named: "The Little Stop of Horrors!"(as if MS isn't scary enough) The three of us are determined to continue to raising funds to bring an end to this devastating disease. My new "Everest" is to complete this 3-Day, 50 Mile Walk again on Sept. 24-26, 2010 a month after my 50th birthday. If I'm fortunate enough to win the $10,000 - I will donate the entire amount to the MS Society. Participating in this walk is the most physically & emotionally rewarding accomplishment of my life & I want to experience it again to celebrate my 50th birthday!
